Charlemagne

Well done to everyone who correctly identified my holiday destination! You have won a couple of photos of Charlemagne's statue in the Parc d'Avroy in Liège. Why Charlemagne in Liège? Because most historians agree that he was born somewhere around here. More precisely, he was supposedly born either in Jupille or in Herstal, both within a few kilometers from the city centre. Others are even less vague in their estimates, designating Boulevard Piercot 22, 4000 Liège 1 as Charlemagne's birthplace. Or was that number 28?
