Calatrava again

It's been a while since I posted a photo of our new train station. It still amazes me every time I see it. The monument and basilica of Cointe can be seen on the hill in the background.

The river, the tree and the palace

A view of the Meuse river taken from the small park in front of the King Albert statue. The long building on the opposite side is the Palais des Congrès, the city's exhibition hall.

A most elusive fish

A final photo from the Pot au lait decor. I wonder where that fish has gone.

Bad weather

Exactly what the title says! Back to Liège-themed posts, with clouds, fog and hailstone. Thankfully it doesn't last long, every 5 minutes we get completely different weather. Springtime!

Dynasty

Having grown up in the 80s, my only Denver experience prior to going there was seeing a couple of shots of downtown Denver in the Dynasty TV show opening sequence. I tried to recreate one shot from the sequence, taken from the capitol hill and featuring a cannon. Here is my shot:

and here is the original:

Clearly things have changed in 30 years. The cannon has been moved so that the view is now obscured by the tree. There's also at least three new buildings that didn't exist in the 80s. And the original shot was taken with a much narrower angle and far closer to the the ground. But, to me, the spirit of Dynasty is still there, even though all of the show was shot in California.

Mile High

My prolonged silence was due to the fact that I was in Denver Colorado over the last ten days or so. I went for a conference but we stayed a couple of extra days and we got the chance to visit Boulder and go hiking on the hills. I will post some more photos of our Denver adventure over the next couple of days.
