This enormous poster was placed on the wall of the former hotel Baar Lecharlier in place Saint Etienne months ago. I pass in front of it every day but it's only today that I thought of taking a photo of it. Better late than never! The slogan reads 'The city is life ... Liège, cultural meeting point'.

Change of subject

It's time for a change of subject. Here's a photo of an impressive piece of graffiti next to the Bressoux train station.

Officially sanctioned graffiti

This nautically themed graffiti was painted by the students of a secondary school on the facade of what used to be the city's public swimming pool. There are plans to renovate the building and turn it into a cultural centre. I suppose that the graffiti will disappear...

It's been a while since I posted any graffiti pics. Starting today I will be doing a graffiti mini series. Here's the first one on Rue Leopold.

Cultural genocide

This outspoken piece of graffiti suggests that all those opposed to graffiti are nazis and should die. Why bother to construct arguments, hold discussions or take part in debates when you can just hurl accusations of genocide?

Here's some more graffiti, in the pedestrian passages under the Pont Albert. Only the architects of the 1950s and 60s thought that such tunnels were good ideas.

One of the most unexpected pieces of advice I've ever received from a graffiti: Apprenez le Grec! (Learn Greek!) No explanation, no justification, just learn Greek. Somewhere in Liège city centre.

Who said that sci-fi graffiti and a statue of Jesus Christ crucified don't go together? In Liège they do!

Arty graffiti

Here's some original graffiti/installation on a wall in the Rue Hors Château. I think it reads 'Laisse-moi t'aimer' (let me love you) and it is written mostly in plastic doll parts.
