Great Ideals

To go with yesterday's urination prohibition, here are some more words of wisdom from the walls of Liege: Duty, God and Country, Work. Notice that the Duty guy is holding a rifle.

No pissing

This sign on the side of the St Denis church prohibits urination and threatens with a fine.

Big fat moon

The moon put in a very impressive appearance yesterday night. I am afraid I overexposed it though...

Champions of the Universe

Tonight Standard Liège won the Belgian championship. It's party time. Unfortunately, the photos cannot convey the noise...

Here's another ground floor window from the Outremeuse area. Certainly not as creepy as yesterday's window though.

With reference to a previous post, this is what happens to really bad road signs!

Old postbox

This is the only old postbox I've seen in Liege. It looks very much like a classic british postbox but there's more lions and more gold lettering on it. It also features one of the very few bilingual inscription in Liege.

A strong feeling of safety

I took this photo yesterday at the car show. Apparently, the police felt that they had to put on a show too. I didn't see a single policeman but there was a dozen of police motorcycles, parked in perfect alignment, making us feel safe.

Rallye du Cinema

Today the city organized the Rallye du Cinema, an exhibition of famous cars from movies. I don't think they were the originals, they all had Belgian license plates. In the centre of the picture you can see James Bond's 2CV from For Your Eyes Only. On its right you can just about see Herbie.

Long silence

I apologize for the long silence. My Internet Service Provider was suffering from a DNS issue which meant that I could not access Flickr for a couple of days. Obviously, the issue has now been resolved. Here's a picture of a sheep in front of the Museum of Modern Art.
