Skywatch Friday

Here's my contribution to Skywatch Friday. I must apologize for the dark patches in the middle of the shots, there's something wrong with my camera. Since January, all photos I take of the blue sky contain this dark blob... Any ideas?

I think either your lens or inside the camera needs a clean; this mark probably only shows up against lighter background objects; try taking a picture of a piece of white card or a neutral wall to check; good luck

Great shots, anyway! The trails look like a starburst. I always get blobby bits like this on my photos - vigorously cleaning the lens of my camera with a lens-cloth usually helps.

They are still great shots! Love the trails! Have a great weekend!

It's not everyone whose Skywatch has a black hole in the shot...

Blobs or not these are beautiful shots--simple and eyecatching. Nicely done.

God sky watch post. I would say your sensor has a smudge on it nd needs cleaned.

Great catch for SWF. Never seen more than two vapourtrails at the same time. And never this close together. Makes me think of cruisemissiles but probably they're not. Simple, yet effective! Happy SWF!

I have the same in my camera. Never bothered to find out what's wrong with it since I Photoshop it away if it's too visible.

Without or without the black smudge they are mysterious. It looks like you just need to clean the lens. Any photographer's shop will sell you a cleaning cloth. Only use a proper cleaning cloth or you could scratch the lens.

Lovely contrails on your photo. That blob probably is some smudge on the lens but could be something inside too.

Very cool photos! I'm used to seeing "blobs" because that's how my husband's photos turn out. His are multiplying.... I'll suggest he find a lens cleaner as it's getting tiresome to photoshop the little buggers away. :)

Nice vapour trails.

I've had those blobs too, I suspect dust in my camera.

Excellent photos! So much movement.

I also have a dark smudge visible against a single color smooth background - sky in particular - it happened after I dropped my camera, the man at the photo shop said that it could be a piece of dust or a pixel gone bad. Too expensive to fix (1/2 the camera's original cost) so for sky photos I edit the smudge out. (Picassa editor - free download - or Photo Shop have a spot fix or clone stamp, respectively.
