Wow! Your thumbnail really stood out as I scrolled through the Skywatch site. It has a sci-fi tinge to it - you know, the tractor beam from the ship down to the planet's surface, or the column of fire shooting out into orbit. (Sorry, the trailer for last year's Star Trek film has been on TV this evening...)

This is a wonderful photo! The texture of the clouds is fascinating--the contrail and airplane, a bonus!
Like Beth, I, too, am drawn to the multi-texture feel of this.
