Flee market again

Another shot from Sunday's flee market. As you can see, the weather was perfect!

On Sunday there was a flee market in Outremeuse. These two lovely objects really tickled my fancy. The perfect complement to your Three Wolf Moon t-shirt.

Red moon

A couple of days ago I took this photos of a red full moon rising over Liège rooftops.

In this second shot I had to tweak the shadows in an image processing software to bring out the buildings. Consequently the moon has a bizarre dark corona.

Diving is always underwater

Here's some action shots! A strut fell off the footbridge into the Meuse today. We happened to pass by the moment a maintenance team arrived to rake it out. Two people dived while another five (and later seven) looked on.

Then the divers unhooked the strut from a cable that was preventing it from sinking.

Finally, they tied a rope to it and the dry members of the team pulled it out. Job's a good'un.

Great ball of fire

Yesterday's sunset featured the perfect cloud for looking directly at the sun. Just the perfect subject for today's Skywatch!

Roof repairs

Today, for the first time since I moved to Liege (2.5 years ago), I saw someone trying to do some work on this building. I hope that they will actually do something about it, not just assess the level of the damage.

The moon and the spire 2

About a year ago I posted a night shot of the cathedral spire with the moon and clouds in the background. Recently I took a day shot of the same subject matter (minus the clouds). Here it is; the moon is faint but clearly visible above and to the right of the spire.
