Graffiti

Posh graffiti on the store front of a couple of non-profit organizations called "The Diverse Circus" and "Women's Voice Festival". Speaks for itself, somehow...

I'm dreaming of a white Easter

Today we had quite a bit of snowfall. Here's a photo of the rooftops of the city centre through a veil of snow. The citadel hill is just about visible in the distance.

Second day of spring

Second post today because I didn't post yesterday. Today was the second day of spring and also the day of the most severe snowfalls I've seen in Liege since we moved here back in August. Here's a photo of a horizontal snowfall in the Sart Tilman university campus.

More street signs

I got some nice comments about my street signs so here are some more, from the same set of roadworks

Road works

That's what happens when road signs don't behave themselves. They get taken down and people walk all over them!

This is one of my favorite views of the city: the Boulevard de la Sauvenière with the St Martin church on the hill. Enjoy!

The Temple of Doom

Enter mortals and despair, for there is no hope past the gates of desolation. You will meet your doom under the spectral dome of the Basilique de Cointe

We tried to feed the ducks

The ducks in the Parc de la Boverie are very discerning eaters. They snubbed the old bread we gave them the way any self-respecting food critic would snub tinned burgers with gravy. The photo shows them eating but in fact they spat it out. Too old for them...

A sunny day

It's not a recent photo... I was just fed up of posting cloudy weather pics so I dug this one up. It's a photo of the Monument du 14eme de Ligne on the Citadel Hill, taken in October.

Stuck in a traffic jam

Traffic was very perturbed yesterday evening in the city centre. Here I am stuck in traffic just in front of the old post office building.

La Saint Torré

Today was the last day of the student celebrations known as the St Torré. Take a few thousand students, add several truckloads of beer and tons of mud. Give it a whirl. Voila

Beautiful weather again... This is a view of the back of the Galeries Saint Lambert shopping center. The citadel hill has disappeared in the fog.

In keeping with yesterday's Alexander the Great theme, here is the famous man's restaurant in Liege. Oh how the great have fallen...

I was being a bit unfair on the quantities of snow we saw yesterday. Up on the Sart Tilman hill, in the university campus, there was lots more snow.

Snow!!!!

For once the weather forecast got it right! It did snow today in Liege. Here is a view of the city centre rooftops completely snowed under. Some roofs caved in under the weight of the snow. The Citadel Hill is in the background
