Unexpected Christmas invasion

Christmas unexpectedly invaded Liège today, bringing with it enormous snowflakes and the distant sound of sleigh bells. The invasion only lasted for 10 minutes but it was impressive. Shock and awe!

Snow = no roadworks

One of the fundamental equations of human society: snow=no roadworks. Here's the proof:

The diggers have been parked and idle for two weeks.

It's melting away...

Although the temperatures have not exceeded -3 degrees Centigrade in nearly two weeks, the snow is slowly melting away, especially near buildings.
