The White Tower
Here's another holiday snap. The White Tower (it's not all that white, really) is the symbol of the city of Thessaloniki. Here is a picture of it at dusk. A couple of military bods are waiting to lower the flag.

Liege City Daily Photo is on Holidays
You've probably noticed that I've not updated the blog in ten days. We're on holidays in Greece and I don't have any recent Liege photos to upload. So I've decided to take the blog on holidays too. For the next month or so we'll have Liege City Daily Photos on location in northern Greece.
Here's a first photo of a sunset in Halkidiki. Storm clouds are looming and the sun does its best to break through.
Here's what happened when the clouds caught up with us eventually

Bastille Day
Allons enfants de la patri-i-e! The Liegois love the French and they celebrate the 14th of July (Bastille Day) with fireworks. They were launched from the Heliport and flew over the river. Here's a few of them.

Madonna and child
A religious subject for today: one of the countless madonna shrines in the city. This one is from the Impasse des Ursulines. Ave Maria.

Save council housing
A couple of 'Save council housing' posters, an italian flag, stamps and various other stickers make this window interesting. The Rue Pierreuse is in the reflection.

Village Gaulois
The spire of the cathedral viewed from inside the Village Gaulois. It's not Gaulish and it's not a village but there's plenty of food and drink in it. It's a temporary food and drink market in the Place Saint Paul and it will be here until July 14, Bastille Day.
